Set in the beautiful Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia lies Thorntree River Lodge. It has been designed to complement its surroundings, with wooden decks encompassing the trees, and built right up to the banks of the mighty Zambezi. The lodge is built with an environmentally-conscious design consisting of 8 twin rooms and 2 family units, all en-suite with private plunge pools. Each suite is built on a wooden deck, raised slightly off the ground, and has solid walls with a canvas roof that still gives a slightly tented feel. You enter from the back, through a chunky teak wood door, made from old railway sleepers.
At the heart of the main area sits two large circus-style tents with stone walls at the back and frameless glass stacking doors to the front, leading out onto an expansive deck overlooking the river. There is a gym and spa overlooking the Zambezi River, small library with Wi-Fi and an infinity pool on a wooden deck.
Activites on offer include; guided walking safaris, game drives, canoeing, catch and release fishing and boat cruises.
